Our story
FibroSupport UK was born from lived experience — because the people who needed it most couldn't find what they were looking for.
Our founder was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after years of unexplained pain, exhaustion, and the particular loneliness of not being believed. Like so many others, they spent months navigating a medical system that struggled to name what was happening — and even longer trying to make sense of it afterwards.
Once diagnosed, they searched for a UK-based resource that felt genuinely human. Not a clinical leaflet. Not a forum full of unanswered questions. Something warm, trustworthy, and written by people who actually understood. It didn't exist — so they built it.
FibroSupport UK started quietly, as a place to gather the information and community our founder wished had existed when they needed it most. It has since grown into a trusted space for thousands of people across the UK — all of them looking for the same thing: to feel less alone, and to be believed.
What we stand for
Compassion first
Every word on this site is written with the understanding that fibromyalgia is real, it is painful, and it deserves to be taken seriously.
Lived experience matters
We centre the voices of people who live with fibromyalgia every day — not just clinical definitions or medical summaries.
No judgement, ever
Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing for decades, you will find no judgement here — only support.
If you have found your way here, we are glad you did. Whatever brought you to this page, you belong here.
